The traffic can be a nightmare for visitors to Viet Nam for the first time. Believe it or not, there are transport rules but people don't seem really interested in following them. Three or four people on one motor bike is a common sight, particularly with the young.
The traffic is worst during the rush hour when everyone is attempting to get to work or get home quickly. Some people ride their motorbikes on the pavement rather than waiting in the traffic jam. The people walking are just as likely to get hit on the pavement as they are crossing the roads at such times. It's crazy. Road users become very impatient, constantly using their horns when there's obviously nowhere to go, even shouting at others to get out of the way. You have to be quite aggressive or you get nowhere.
the most annoying thing about the traffic is the way people use their horns. It's a habit which serves no purpose most of the time. A disturbing trend is the fashion for installing air horns on motorbikes. This is really annoying for other people and sometimes it causes accidents.
And imagine how many people are waiting in the traffic jam, it means how many hours of working and how much gasoline we are wasting. The losses we are suffering may be more than that, the losses of health as breathing the polluted air must be taken into account. Driving motorbike in big cities brings to us zero pleasure and much stress. Bad traffic kills more than one. Of course, there’re the accidents we see and fear, but there’s also a more silent killer: traffic jam that hold up ambulances, patients caught in gridlock often don’t receive the attention they need in time and often die because of it.

It is believed that the number of the people who have died in traffic accidents is much higher than that of the people who have died of cancer or any other disease. In Ho Chi Minh City, the problem of traffic accidents is really serious. The following measures should be taken to reduce the seriousness/to minimize the consequences of this problem.
Firstly, the system of the main streets in Ho Chi Minh City must be improved or upgraded. It is awful to move along the streets of Ho chi Minh City because most of them are in bad condition and some are full of holes, either big or small. In addition, during the rainy season many streets are flooded with water after a heavy rain. If we are not careful enough, we easily hit other people or fall off our bike or motorbike.
Secondly, law-breaking and drunken riders/drivers should be punished strictly. These law-breaking and drunken riders/drivers are the “devils” of the streets: they operate their motor vehicles at a high speed and sway from one side/curb of the street to the other whenever they feel excited. There is no doubt that one of the main reasons of serious traffic accidents is the riders’ or drivers’ carelessness and lack of self-control.
Last but not least, calling for every citizen’s obeying traffic laws is crucial. The cit dwellers’ awareness of the necessity to obey traffic law is quite low; consequently, they travel along the streets without paying close attention to traffic lights and other signals. Quite often, motor-cyclists occupy the lanes for cars and other four-wheel motor vehicles while taxi drivers speed up, forcing the riders/drivers of other vehicles to give way to them. It takes a lot of time and energy to draw the attention of anyone who does travel along the streets in Ho Chi Minh City to the well-established traffic laws here in particular and to make each of the city dwellers a law-abiding citizen in general. But it is worth it!
In conclusion, we are all overwhelmed by the increasing number of the traffic accidents in Ho Chi Minh City nowadays. It is time to upgrade the whole system of the main streets in this city and apply strong efficient measures both to punish those who break traffic laws and to call for every citizen’s consciousness of obeying these laws strictly whenever he/she travels along the street in this city. The sooner these suggestions will be taken into account, the less serious the traffic accidents happening in Ho Chi Minh City will be.”
I come from (..say the city name…) and this city accommodates a large number of population. Due to this huge population and the increased number of public and private cars, the city often faces bad traffics.
The number of people living in this city, the cars they are using and the public transportation they need is higher than the number of roads. As a result, the traffic jam often occurs and people have to suffer. Another reason for the traffic jam is the unauthorised parking if cars in the street. People do not often follow the exact traffic rules and because of their sincerity, we often face the horrible traffics in the street.
The traffic jam in our city is one of the terrible things the city dwellers have to face. People get stuck on the roads and they have no idea when they would be able to reach their destination. Because of this jam, people often miss important schedules, students can’t reach school in time and the outcome is devastating. Because of the jam in the street people have to schedule accordingly and the total time killed in the street is simply a waste of time.
There are many steps which should be taken to reduce the jam in the street. First of all the people who are driving in the street should very strictly follow the traffic rules. The traffic control authority should more strictly apply the rules. The number of private automobiles is increasing rapidly. Many single families own multiple cars and thus increase the number of total cars driving in the street. The rule should be imposed on purchasing cars and the price of the fuel could be increased as well. The public transportation system should be improved so that people can travel on public cars. The city has more population than it can comprise and decentralisation of industries, offices and educational institutes can be another solution to this abhorrent problem.
There are many traffic problems in the city. Traffic congestion is the most prominent. The main cause of this problem is the population explosion in urban areas, causing overpopulation. There is too much traffic on the highway, making it inconvenient to travel. It also takes a lot of our time. In addition to traffic congestion, traffic accidents are also a serious problem. There are many causes of an accident. The first is due to the carelessness, the lack of awareness of the pedestrians. In addition, partly due to too many vehicles, making it difficult to move and cross the road. Next is the roads that are not safe enough. There were many potholes, and the road was too narrow and muddy. Traffic problems will be prevented if we obey the law.

There are many problems in big cities that the people face daily. Among them, traffic jams are one of the big problems. On almost every road, the volume of traffic has increased manifold. Especially in big cities, the traffic situation is getting worse with every passing day. Traffic snarls up every day and one of the causes of these traffic jams is an increase in the number of vehicles in the city. Other causes include the dilapidated condition of roads, bad behaviour of drivers and violation of traffic rules. Due to all these reasons, road accidents occur in Karachi on a daily basis.
When I was a student, I used to live in Hanoi. So I was the person who always got traffic jams. Nowadays, althought the traffic in Hanoi has been improved ,it still is one of the most serious problems in our society. In my opinion, there are some following ways to reduce the traffic jams. Firstly, The government should build more motorways because many streets and roads are narrow, a lot of transports share one road so it is easy to cause accidents and traffic jams. Secondly, a law about driving in city center should be given. Motorists driving in city center must be charged strictly. There are too much motocycles in the city, many motorisrs are too young, they don't have driving license, they don't understand the law or they don't obey the law seriously . The government should encourage people to use the puplic transport by discouring the price for someone who always uses public transport, especially for students ,workers, etc, opening more bus routes, maybe build the subway. I think subway is the best way to reduce the traffic jams. Things we should do immedietely are educating people from early age, issueing a law in traffic, banning stricly the person who don't obey the law. In conclusion, we should be aware of disadvantages of traffic jams. It affects on every sides of our life.
I live in Vietnam and there are a lot of traffic problems in big cities in my country. Firstly, there are too many people using the roads especially in the rush hour when people run out to work and school or get home from those places. Secondly, there are too many vehicles on the road that leads to traffic jams. Another problem is that many roads are narrow and bumpy. Fourthly, there are traffic accidents every day so a lot of people lose their lives or are injured. So in order to travel on the roads safely, I think we should obey the traffic rules and traffic signs as well. Moreover, carefulness is very necessary.
