Ex1: Rewrite the following sentences so that the second sentence means exactly the same as the sentence before it:

1. Although she was not beautiful, she took part in a beauty contest.

-> She wasn't beautiful but she took part in a beauty contest.

2. It was raining, so we decided to postpone our camping.

-> Since it was raining, we decided to postpone our camping.
