How Nam has improved his English.
In the first year of lower secondary held I had some difficulties in learning English. My English pronunciation was really bad and my English grammar was worse.
I did not know how to improve them. I didn’t want my father and mother to know about this. One afternoon after the lesson, my teacher of English told me to wait for her outside the classroom. She took me to the school library and showed me tapes of pronunciation drills kept in a glass bookcase. She also told me how to use an English English dictionary to improve my English grammar. “Now I think you know what you should do” she said. I made much progress and only one year later, I won the first prize in the English Speaking Contest held for secondary school students in my hometown.

I'm writing to you from the mountaineering school in Nepal, where I'm doing a summer course. The course only started three days ago, but I've learnt so many things that it seems as if I put up for weeks! Tonight I'm exhausted because we made tents all afternoon. The tents kept falling down because the ground is really wet; it has rained since we got here. I had my dinner, and I'm about to go to bed. I hope I can get some proper sleep. I haven't slept well since I arrived, because I shareda room with two older guys who snore really loudly. When I complained, the organisers didn't do to change me to another room, but they haven't promise anything about it yet. But apart from that, I'm having a great time and I have made lots of friends.
Got to go,
Simon
