As a result of the pandemic Covid-19, all your classes are now online. You have been having problems with the internet connection in your area. Write a letter of complaint to the internet provider.

Dear Sir or Madam,

1. I am writing to report the slow and unstable internet connection in my area. Since I am now taking online classes, I access the internet for my lessons and materials, so high speed internet connectivity is very important to me.

2. My main problem is that the signal is not strong enough during the day. As most of my online classes are in the morning, I am frequently disconnected from the lectures. Without stable internet connectivity, it is more and more difficult for me to follow the class.

3. I realise that it is expensive to support all students in the city who are doing online classes as a result of the pandemic. However, students should be able to attend their classes without any interruption rather than spending all the time adjusting their devices.

4. In conclusion, I find this is an irritating problem. Unless there is a significant improvement to the internet reliability and speed in the area, the students in our city will not be able to attend online classes.

Yours faithfully,

Lam Anh

2. Read the texts. What are the two students talking about? Choose the correct answer.

(Đọc văn bản. Hai học sinh đang nói về điều gì? Chọn câu trả lời đúng.)

A. Ways of helping students

B. Ways of learning

C. How to enjoy learning

Kim

I think face-to-face learning is better than online learning because I can communicate with teachers and other classmates immediately and directly when I have questions. In class, I can work in groups and discuss with friends. This helps me understand the lessons better. When I have a problem, I can ask for answers or help immediately. I can't do this in online classes. I have to email my teachers and wait for their reply. Learning in a traditional classroom also has fewer distractions than learning online. My teachers have many strategies to keep us focused on the lessons. I really enjoy my lessons and learn a lot.

Laura

I think online learning has more advantages than disadvantages. My school is trying to change from face-to-face to blended learning, so sometimes we have online classes. I don't have to go to school, but I don't feel I'm missing any lessons by taking online classes. Furthermore, I think I learn online as much as I learn in a traditional class. I can't talk to my teacher and classmates, but I can email them at any time. I also have an online discussion board where I can exchange comments and ideas about my projects with my classmates. The only disadvantage is I really need to have a fast Internet connection.

Giup e với . Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D to indicate the correct answer to each of the questions. Cell phones are an integrated part of our society at this point, and their main use is communication. They keep students in touch with the rest of the world by giving them the power to interact with it . In my day, if you forgot your lunch you were at the mercy of the office calling home for you. Now, students have the ability to solve their own problems and handle certain "emergencies" on their own. Cell phones also allow students the ability when the time is right, to keep in touch with students at other schools or friends that don't go to school. While not an educational benefit directly, better relationships can lead to higher self-esteem and reduce isolation, which is good for everybody. In the same way, camera phones allow students to capture the kinds of memories that help build a solid school culture, and, in some cases, can act as documentation of misbehavior in the same way that store cameras provide evidence and deter bad behavior. Academically, the cell phone can act as to record video of a procedure of explanation that may need to be reviewed later. It could be used to record audio of a lecture, as well, for later review. And just imagine if class could be easily " taped " for students who are absent? What if they could even be streamed and seen from home instantly? The iPod is a little trickier, because its function varies greatly by model. At its heart , it is a media player, and I know for a fact that many students work better while listening to music. For this reason, they can have a good effect by keeping students from getting too distracted while working ( ironic , because we mostly think of them AS distractions!). If it is a WIFI compatible model, and wireless internet is available, the iPod can be a great tool for looking up information or digging into things more deeply. Depending on the model, it may be able to act as a camera and video recorder as well (with the same benefits as the cell phone). Devices like the Kindle could, conceivably, make learning a lot easier. Imagine carrying all your textbooks in the palm of your hand, rather than strapped to your back! Though expensive, compared to buying new textbooks, the Kindle is a bargain. Many of the books used in high school English classes are actually FREE on the Kindle. 11. The passage mainly discusses ____. A. how some electronic devices are used in education B. how to use electronic devices in the classroom C. what is the best electronic device used in education D. which electronic device will be used as the textbooks 12. I have Learned, often the hard way, that there are a few simple rules about how to make life easier both before and after your journey. First of All, always check and double-check departure times. It is amazing how few people really do this carefully. Once i arrived at the airport a few minutes after ten. My secretary had got the ticket for me and i thought she said that the plane left at 10:50. I walked calmly to the departure desk, thinking I still had a little time to spare. I didn`t bother to take a good look at the ticket. The clerk at the desk told me politely but firmly that the departure time was 10:15 and that the flight was, according to international regulations, " now closed! ". I had to wait three hours for the next one and missed an importent meeting.

The second rule is to remember that even in this age of credit cards, it is still importent to have at least a little of the local currency with you when you arrive in a country. This can be absolutely essential if you are flying to a place few tourists normally visit. A few years ago, I took a business trip to Oklahoma. I flew there from London via Dallas, with very little time to change planes in between. I arrived there at midnight and the bank at the airport was closed. The only way to get to my hotel was by taxi and since I had no Dollars, i offered to pay in Pounds instead." Listen, Buddy! I only take Real money! " the driver said angrily. Luckily I was able to borrow a few dollars from a clerk at the hotel, but it was Embarrassing.

The third and last rule is to find out as much as you can about the weather at your destination before you leave, especially if you can take only a little baggage with you. I feel sorry for some of my colleagues who travel in heavy suits and raincoats in May, when it is still fairly cool in London or Manchester, to places like Athens, Rome or Madrid, where it is already beginning to get quite warm during a day. Few people understand just how importent it is to have the right sort of clothes with you in these days of rapid air travel.

I. Discuss these questions. Campare your answers.

1. Explain why the writer once arrived at the airport only a few minutes before the plane left.

2. Whose fault do you think it was? Thư writer's or his secretary's? Give reasons for your answer.

3. Explain why the writer think it is essential to have at least a little local currency when you arrive in a foreign country.

4. Describe some of the problems you could have if you ignore the advice in the last paragraph
