Located in the Lam Vien highland, Da Lat is famous for its cool weather, various types of flower and romantic scenes. Visiting Da Lat, I will visit its pine forests, flowers garden, vintage houses and stores,.. Besides, enjoying the local cuisine attracts me a lot. Xuan Huong lake and Da Lat market are among the most common places in Da Lat for visitors to come. Also, you can see the French architecture in the houses and villas in Da Lat, which has been built nearly 100 years ago. Valleys, lakes, mountains and hills are known as the symbols of Da Lat, Suoi Vang valley, Love valley, Suoi Vang lake, Langbiang mountain are the ideal destinations to have a rest and escape from the city’s noise. They are also the places that many music videos were filmed and gained reputation. Because of its peace, breathtaking views and natural beauty , Da Lat is listed one of the most expected attractions in Viet Nam. Travelling in historical places always helps expand the realm of knowledge. In fact, this is the way to gain real-life knowledge. So, I love travelling and would like to visit the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt.
This is the largest pyramid among the pyramid complex located at El Giza in Egypt. The pyramid is better known as the Pyramid of Khufu. Moreover, this is one of the oldest Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This is the only one that has been not been damaged so far. It is known that the pyramid was made by Pharaoh Khufu who belonged to the fourth dynasty of Egypt. The pyramid was built as a royal tomb with a span of 20 years. The pyramid is also famous as it remained as the tallest man-made structure on the planet for a longer time. Egyptologists are of the view that pyramid was made around 2500 BC
Egypt is the country where different mysteries are found and in the current days, the mysteries make the people thrilled. Pyramids are one of the attractive things in the country and have many specialities. The Great Pyramid was made wish casing stones for a smooth outer surface. The pyramid construction is still unknown to all but there are some hypotheses about the construction. The most impressionable hypothesis is that the stones were brought from a quarry by dragging and then those were lifted using some special techniques to be set in their places. But no scientific evidence or explanation has been found yet over the actual construction style. The place is special for another reason - there are three burial chambers inside the pyramid whereas the other pyramids do not have such chambers.
I am a graduate student of history at the Western Sydney University and one of my courses deal with the ancient civilisation. Thereby, I came to know about the past stories of the earth, men, cultures, customs and many other relevant issues. One of the chapters in this course is dealing with the civilisations of Egypt. The chapter is all about the life and living on Egyptian Pharaohs, common people, Nile and the localities near and centring the Nile. A couple of weeks ago, the teacher for History Mr Andrew Smith, started the chapter. Since I was highly interested in ancient history, the chapter attracted me most. Then I took the help of the internet and came to know about many interesting issues about Egypt, Nile and the pyramids.
I have read different interesting information about the pyramids and Egypt. The information has made me curious to visit the place, especially the pyramids. It is known that the emperors (better known as Pharaohs) build the structure as the tomb for them. So, when they died, they were buried inside the burial chamber adorned with precious riches and facilities. The Egyptians believed that the king or emperor may need wealth in the other world. So, they provided the ornaments, precious stones and other wealth. Often they killed the servants to accompany the masters in the other world. They buried the servants with the kings too. Another most interesting factor is the mummification of the dead bodies. They used to preserve the dead bodies in such a way that the bodies remained the same for years and still some of the dead bodies have been found which have not been changed at all. These are highly interesting to me and so I want to visit the pyramids.

Everybody has his or her own hobby. My favourite hobby is reading. I enjoy reading a book when I am free. I started to get the hobby from my father when I was four years old. My father is a researcher so he has a great collection of books on many fields: literature, science, art,…
I enjoy reading because it allows me to explore my own imaginative world. I keep the hobby of reading at least one hour every day. I usually read books at home, in my own room, at my office or at the local library. On my freetime, I can spend hours reading and thinking about facts described in each kind of books.
My favourite author is J.K.Rowling who wrote world-famous books “ Harry Potter”.
For me a good book is not only a true companion but also a well-experienced teacher guiding me through my life. There are a lot of advantages of reading. Reading makes me feel relaxed and calm. It has the miracle to relieve my suffering and my hardship and reveal to me strange and new horizons. I can also learn new vocabularies and grammars. So I can further improve my English. Moreover, it gives me unlimited imaginations. I can learn about different cultures of other countries in the world, too.
Instead of indulging myself in futile entertainments, I am often keen on reading books, which broadens my mind and improves my knowledge.
In a few words, the reading of books contributes to the moral and intellectual formation of a man. I love reading and I love books. I will collect more and more books and I wish I can write my own books in the future.

I would like to talk about the Lunar New Year festival, also known as the Tet holiday, which is the occasion expected the most by Vietnamese people every year. The festival usually lasts for around 3-4 days, and it takes place when a new year comes according to the lunar calendar.
The Lunar New Year festival takes place because it is one of the most well-known traditions of Vietnam. Our people have been celebrating this occasion for thousands of years, and although there has been some recent argument about whether we should stop celebrating this festival, I do not think this activity will come to an end soon, at least not in the short term.
There are some common things that people do during this festival. Perhaps the most important thing is that people who work and study in big cities would go back to their hometown to celebrate the new year with their families and relatives. The new year festival is one of very few occasions that families can gather together, so it is easy to understand why everyone in Vietnam expects this festival so much. Another thing that we usually do is that we give children some “lucky money” with the hope that it will bring fortune to those kids. We also have some other activities such as making “chung” cake, visiting temples and pagodas… and so on.
The new year festival is so important to me and also to all Vietnamese citizens. The reason is because we get more days off from work and study, and therefore we have more time to spend with our families and our loved ones. It is also a great time to think about what we have done in the previous year, and to make plans for the upcoming year.

One of the most important festivals in my country as well as other Asian countries is Tet, the Lunar New Year Festival. This festival celebrates the beginning of a new year according to lunar calendar, which is around late January or early February. There are three main stages in this festival. Before the New Year's Eve, family members clean and decorate their house with kumquat and peach trees. They also shop for new clothes to wear on the occasion as well as a lot of food for family gatherings. On New Year's Eve, a big meal is prepared to welcome the very first moments of another year with family and friends. People eat, drink and sing cheerfully until the morning. It is our tradition that on the first three days, people visit their relatives and teachers. This is my favorite festival because it is the only occasion when all of my family members gather after a busy year. Besides, during Tet, I can completely relax and forget all about the troubles of the previous year.
