Tet is definitely the most crucial national festival of Vietnam. It is one of the most widely celebrated festivals in our country. This is the occasion that people celebrates with great joy, hope, festivity and different cultural and other programs.
Tet is the time when the Lunar calendar year begins which usually fall between mid January to mid February.
People start the arrangement to celebrate this festival about one month prior to Tet which includes cooking traditional foods, cleaning their house and buying new furnitures, etc.
On the Lunar New Year’s Eve, people gather together, makes prayers and stay awake till late night to enjoy the night.
During Tet, there are several customs that make Tet a unique festival. For instance, adults tend to give lucky money to children, visit friend and relatives’ houses, play cards, and going to churches, temples or pagodas to make good prays for their family.
This is an important festival to us. Vietnamese take this day as an important festival day. In our tradition, we start the year with the hope of eliminating the bitterness and failure of the past year and start a fresh year with the hope of fortune and happiness. Furthermore, this is the time for families and relatives to stay together under the same roof for rekindling love and bonding.

Tet is a traditional holiday of our country, Vietnam.
It often begins in late-January and ends in early-February. With the meaning of seeing the old year off and welcoming the new year, Tet becomes a special occasion of reunion for Vietnamese families. At that time, all family members try to come back to their home and get together to make such preparations for Tet as buying new clothes and cleaning their house. A branch of apricot blossoms or a Kumquat tree is indispensable decoration for every family in these days. They seem like a fresh air to the house. We display a tray full of fruits and vases of flowers on the ancestral altar.
Some typical Tet's food are sweets, coconut jam, fruit candies, melon seeds, stew pork with eggs, and especially sticky rice cake. Tet meals are usually bigger and more delicious than our daily ones.
On Tet holiday, people have many recreational activities. Young persons take part in the traditional games such as: tug of war, cooking rice, cock fighting, watching lion dance. Many people visit relatives to wish a happy new year. Adults will give lucky money to children. Woman like going to pagoda to wish good things for their family.
In my opinion, I like cozy and fresh Tet atmosphere. All family members gather and talk about resolutions for a happy new year. I can hang out with my friend and don't worry about anything.

Tet is one of the most important festival in VietNam. It’s held every year at the end of January or early February. Some weeks before Tet, Vietnamese clean their houses and paint their wall. They buy peach blossoms. Kumquat, flowers to decorate their houses. New clothes are bought on the occasion. One or two days before Tet, people make Chung cake - the traditional food, sticky rice, spring rolls and other spcial food. On the New Year, every family cook a spcial meals and prepare five fruit tray to worship their ancestors to pray for a better year. On the first day of New Year, people go out. Children receive lucky money wrapped in red envelop. Some one go to the pagoda. Some other visit their relatives and family.
I love TET so much because it is time for all members of my family gather to chat or have meals together

Tet is a national and family festival. It is an occasion for every Vietnamese to have a good time while thinking about the last year and the next year. At Tet, spring fairs are organized, streets and public buildings are brightly decorated and almost all shops are crowded with people shopping for Tet. At home, every is tidied, special food is cooked,offerings of food, fresh water, flowers and betel are made on the family altar with burning joss- sks scenting the air. First-footing is made when the lucky visitor comes and children are given lucky money wrapped in a red tiny envelope. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children often behave well and friends, relatives and neighbors give each other best wishes for the new year.

The season of Tet occurs around the biginning of February and end of Janaurỵ The meaning of Tet is ending old year and welcome a new year. Tet holiday is very special for Vietnamese families to reunite. At that time, all family members try to come back their homes and get together to prepare for Tet. Moreover they will buy new clothes and clean their house. A branch of Mai flower or a Kumquat tree can't be absent from every home. They bring a fresh atmosphere to the house. We decorate ancestral altar with a tray full of fruits and flowers.
Some typical Tet's food such as sweets, coconut jam, candied fruits, lemon seeds, rice cake , "thit kho"( stew pork with eggs). A special food can not absent is sticky rice cake.. It is our country's traditional food on Tet holiday. Tet meal is more dilicious than our every day.

Spring is coming is also the time for a new year to come. Everyone is normal on the national traditional New Year. Adults go to the market to buy Tet products. Children are eager to buy new clothes, receive lucky money ... Hot air. In my hometown, every family packs banh chung, more or less. Every Tet comes, the family returns to the hometown to visit her and them. Everyone is happy for the age of everyone for the beautiful red envelopes. My mother said those envelopes are the best wishes from adults for me. I love Tet in my hometown very much.

– I would to talk about the Lunar New Year festival, also known as the Tet holiday, which is the occasion expected the most by Vietnamese people every year. The festival usually lasts for around 3-4 days, and it takes place when a new year comes according to the lunar calendar.
– The Lunar New Year festival takes place because it is one of the most well-known traditions of Vietnam. Our people have been celebrating this occasion for thousands of years, and although there has been some recent argument about whether we should stop celebrating this festival, I do not think this activity will come to an end soon, at least not in the short term.
– There are some common things that people do during this festival. Perhaps the most important thing is that people who work and study in big cities would go back to their hometown to celebrate the new year with their families and relatives. The new year festival is one of very few occasions that families can gather together, so it is easy to understand why everyone in Vietnam expects this festival so much. Another thing that we usually do is that we give children some “lucky money” with the hope that it will bring fortune to those kids. We also have some other activities such as making “chung” cake, visiting temples and pagodas… and so on.
– The new year festival is so important to me and also to all Vietnamese citizens. The reason is because we get more days off from work and study, and therefore we have more time to spend with our families and our loved ones. It is also a great time to think about what we have done in the previous year, and to make plans for the upcoming year.

Spring comes at the end when Tet comes back all over the homeland. The weather is warmer. Trees started to sprout. In my garden, the flowers bloomed in full bloom. Butterfly flocks come from nowhere, making the garden more vibrant. The sound of birds chirping on the trees is delightful. Everywhere, people are eager to go shopping to celebrate Tet. The street is splendidly decorated. The whole family cleans the house together to welcome the coming new year. New Year's Eve, everyone in the family has a year-end meal together. Adults reflect on the past year, children laugh and laugh. Everyone is looking forward to the moment of New Year's Eve. Every house is filled with a warm, crowded Tet holiday. I love the Tet holiday of my country so much.

All of the special holidays in my country, I like Tet the most. Tet is an occasion to everyone get together in warm atmosphere. Before Tet holiday, we prepares many things and decorates our house with colored - string lights and colorful flowers. We also make Chung cake and cook a great variety of dishes. That was so amazing! On the first day of the new year, I dressed up my new clothes, visited my relatives to say: "Happy new year" and received lucky money in the red envelope from adults. After that, we went to the pagoda and wish for health, wealth, and luck prosperity for our family. We have a lot of fun during Tet.

Although occurring in short period of time, it is believed to be the most important and popular holiday in Vietnam. There are many special food are made so as to prepare for Tet meal such as: sticky square cake, Vietnamese sausage, sticky rice and jam. The food is thought to reflect Vietnam’s habit and custom as well as Vietnamese’s lifestyle. Besides, the meal has other dishes like fish, vegetable to show the hope for a successful and prosperous new year. In term of customs, children’s receiving red envelop from the elder, visiting relative’s houses and going to church are popular activities. Giving lucky money is thought to bring children hope and health. Church is the symbol of peace; therefore, individual go there and pray for successive year. Traditionally, the house is designed with peach flower in the North and Ochna integerrima in the south part of Vietnam. Besides, the house as well as town are clear, decorative and beautiful as all are ready to start a new year. People have cozy atmosphere and enjoy joyful time with their family’s members. It’s high time for people living at different parts of country gathering and spending time together. Tet is a chance for one to come back home after many stress and pressure of studying and working environment. Tet is not simply a holiday, it is culture and habit of Vietnamese since its deep meaning is sacred and important. All in all, Tet includes not only joy but also long-standing event in people’s soul as it helps one grow up through experience.
