Van Mieu (The Temple of Literature) was constructed in 1070 during Ly Thanh Tong's dynasty. Its original purpose was to honor Confucius. In 1076, the first university of Vietnam called Quoc Tu Giam (The Imperial Academy), was established within this temple by Emperor Ly Nhan Tong. That's the reason why the complex has the name of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam up to now. Initially, Quoc Tu Giam was the school for princes and children of royal families and then expanded in the following year to admit top students from around the country.
Nowadays, Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam is one of the most famous tourist destinations for both Vietnamese people and foreigners. It's also a place to celebrate doctorates and high ranking scholars of Vietnam. One special thing about this place is that there are 82 Doctors' stone tablets. They are tombstones with names and origins of 1304 doctors placed on the backs of stone tortoises. If you come here at the beginning of the year or in May, when many important examinations take place, you will catch sights of numerous families and students who come and pray for luck.
Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam opens daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the entrance fee for each adult is 30,000 VND.

Bat Trang Ceramic Village
“I wish I could marry you/ I will buy Bat Trang bricks to build our house” are the beautiful folk words honoring Bat Trang ceramic & pottery quality, the pride of northern Vietnam
Bat Trang, a small village in the north of Vietnam, is about 13 kilometers south east of Hanoi center, on the other side of Chuong Duong Bridge.
Why is its name popular to most tourists to northern Vietnam? The answer is its ever famous ceramic and pottery products of high quality. If you have known about Vietnam, you may not be surprised that Bat Trang’s vases, bowls, dishes, and many other kinds of ceramic products have been exported worldwide. Should you would like to contemplate workers making ceramic products by hand, just come here! What’s more, you can also try it yourself!
Bat Trang village is said to be established in 14th or 15th century in several documents. However, according to the villagers, the village perhaps appeared earlier. There are always two stories concerning the village origin.
One of these tells that under Ly dynasty, in 1100, when the nation was in its independence and initial growth period, there were 3 scholars who came back from their mission trip to China bringing the ceramic craft industry learned there back to Vietnam and taught the people of Bat Trang.
In the other story, in the village history dates back to the 10th century, when King Ly Cong Uan relocated the capital in Thang Long. With the establishment and development of the capital, many businessmen, crafters from many areas come to settle down here to work and trade. In Bat Trang, there was a lot of white clay, so that many potters, among who was Nguyen Ninh Trang family, came and built the kilns here.
Accordingly, Bat Trang has gradually changed from a normal ceramic and pottery village into a famous ceramic and pottery centre until now.

Thấm thoát đã hơn bốn năm học trôi qua dưới mái trường thân yêu, vậy mà giờ đây những kỉ niệm buồn vui của năm tháng học trò cũng sắp trôi đi. Ngôi trường vẫn còn đó, vẫn lặng lẽ dõi theo từng lũ học trò chúng em học hành, đùa giỡn và cùng em bước đi trên con đường học tập.
Nhìn từ xa, ngôi trường như được khoác lên mình một chiếc áo màu màu vàng nhạt nhưng khi ánh nắng chiếu xuống làm cho chiếc áo ấy trở nên rực rỡ hơn. Mái tôn màu cam hòa lẫn với màu sơn hồng đậm của những bức tường tạo nên một phong cảnh đầy màu sắc. Khi đến gần, chúng ta sẽ bắt gặp ngay dòng chữ: "Trường tiểu học Nguyễn Văn Hưởng" được làm bằng đá hoa cương. Dù đã nhiều năm trôi qua, hứng chịu biết bao trận mưa rào, bao cái nắng nóng chói chang, vậy mà ngôi trường chẳng thay đổi là bao. Chiếc cổng sắt màu xám lúc nào cũng dang tay, mở rộng như vòng tay của một người mẹ lúc nào cũng sẵn sàng đón chào những đứa con thân yêu vào trường. Đối với em, ngôi trường này không nguy nga và tráng lệ như một tòa lâu đài mà chỉ đơn sơ nhưng vẫn giữ đầy nét trang nghiêm và thân thiện lạ thường. Sân trường được lát bằng đan, các bạn có biết, nơi đây chúng mình có thể chạy thỏa thích mà không sợ trượt chân đấy. Hai hàng cây xanh xoè tán rộng, làm bóng râm cho những bạn học sinh đứng chờ bố mẹ. Những chú chim từ phương nào bay đến đậu trên những cành cây hót líu lo chờ nắng sớm ban mai của ông mặt trời. Hàng ghế đá xếp dài gần các lớp học dể chúng em ngồi tâm sự với nhau sau mỗi tiết học căng thẳng, mệt mỏi. Sân trường còn là nơi các bạn học sinh và thầy cô sinh hoạt với nhau trong lễ chào cờ. Dãy hành lang xây dựng giống hình chữ U. Dọc các dãy hành lang, các lớp học được trang trí những hình ảnh ngộ nghĩnh và dễ thương. Các tủ sách di động được thầy Hiệu trưởng đặt để các em được đọc những quyển truyện rất hay và hấp dẫn. Mỗi phòng học được trang trí đẹp với nhiều sáng tạo và mang phong cách riêng của mỗi lớp. Lớp thì treo những chậu cây lơ lửng trên cửa sổ, lớp thì trang trí những bông hoa và những hình dáng con cá trên bức tường tạo nên một bức tranh sắc màu rực rỡ làm cho ngôi trường thân thuộc đến lạ kì.
Em yêu ngôi trường này lắm. Mỗi ngày đến trường là một niềm vui. Những kỉ niệm, những khoảnh khắc đáng nhớ về ngôi trường về bạn bè, thầy cô không bao giờ em quên. Rồi một ngày em sẽ phải đến một ngôi mái trường mới nhưng ngôi trường Nguyễn Văn Hưởng vẫn không phai nhòa trong tâm trí em

Crows and fox
On a fine morning, the Fox felt so hungry that his tummy boiled, he decided to get out of the cave to find food. Wandering around trying to find something to put in his mouth, he accidentally smelled the scent of cheese and just raised his head to see Crows sitting on a branch, mouth a large chunk of cheese.
Cheese of her rooster makes him want to cough to saliva. Mr. Fox approached the tree, eyes non-stop island reverse. Just in time to see no one around, said to Draco: "Long time no see, how are you". The Crows only glare at the Fox by blinking without saying anything.
But with his skilful nature, Fox is not easy to release but began to say the words of sugar with her "Crows! I really admire your beauty, You has a smooth black hair and especially the voice that is rich. It would not be great if I could hear your voice now.
Before the flattering of the Fox, Crows is happy, excited because no one has ever praised she so much, so excited her so called a "crow".
Scream just opened his mouth, the cheese fell, and just waiting for the time to the fox leaped up robbery, the last piece of cheese lying in the mouth of the Fox. The fox is happy to have cheated on the crows, just have food to laugh up.

Treo biển
Một cửa hàng bán cá làm cái biển đề mấy chữ to tướng:
"Ở ÐÂY CÓ BÁN CÁ TƯƠI"
Biển vừa treo lên, có người qua đường xem, cười bảo:
- Nhà này xưa nay quen bán cá ươn hay sao mà bây giờ lại phải đề là "cá tươi"!
Truyen cuoi, Nhà hàng nghe nói, xoá ngay chữ "tươi" đi. Hôm sau, có người đến mua cá, cũng nhìn lên biển, cười bảo:
- Người ta chẳng nhẽ đến hàng hoa mua cá hay sao mà phải đề là: "Ở đây"!
Nhà hàng nghe có lý, xóa hai chữ "Ở đây" đi.
Cách vài hôm, lại có một người khách đến mua cá, cũng nhìn lên biển, cười bảo:
- Ở đây chẳng bán cá thì bày cá ra để khoe hay sao mà phải đề là "có bán"!
Nhà hàng nghe nói, lại bỏ ngay hai chữ "có bán" đi. Thành ra trên biển chỉ còn có mỗi chữ "cá"! Anh ta nghĩ bụng chắc từ bây giờ không ai còn bắt bẻ gì nữa. Vài hôm sau, người láng giềng sang chơi, nhìn cái biển nói:
- Chưa đi đến đầu phố đã ngửi thấy mùi tanh, đến gần nhà thì đã thấy đầy những cá, ai mà chẳng biết là bán cá, còn đền biển làm gì nữa!
Thế là nhà hàng cất nối cái biển.

Watching television is my favourite activities I use to do in my free time. I love watching sports programs on Saturday mornings and cartoons on Sunday afternoons. I usually watch movie during all days of week after I have completed my homework at school. At night, I especially enjoy watching situation comedies and movies. If I have a huge number of school work, I try to manage my schedule so that I will able to see at least 1 of my favorite TV shows. Watching TV isn’t the only indoor activity that I can do in my free time. I also have some other favorite activities such as going shopping with my mother or friends and making paper flowers. However, when I have free time, I spend a lot of time on watching TV than other activities. Watching TV can support me not only relax but also build my knowledge about the open world.

In my summer holiday, I did not do something special and did not go somewhere special except Chamonix and Venice. Most of my holiday was showing friends of my parents and my grandparents the most important and the most beautiful places of Geneva and its surroundings.
I started the summer holiday before everyone (6 days before). That was because of my grandparents. Well, it first started off when my grand parents came. We were going by car where my grandmother wouldn't walk and I was walking with my grandfather. Because my grandfather likes walking and my grandmother doesn't. Well they stayed for 1 month and went back to Turkey. The next visitors were my mother's schoolmates (can you believe it!!). They stayed one month as well. We kind of went to same places, when they were gone that was the fun. We went to Chamonix and Venice.
The best thing there was the Jacuzzi and the pool. In Chamonix, the mountains haven. The highest there was Mont-Blanc and Auguille du Midi. We climbed with a cable car; it was totally amazing and extremely cold. This point was 3842 meters high. And, of course, I should not forget Venice, it was also a haven but I didn't see much because we had small amount of time. The most amazing thing was the square of San Marco Polo and then the gondolas.
The thing I really liked about my holiday was getting a brand new VW Passat and seeing my grandparents (first time in two years).
