Ở quê em có một ngọn núi rất đẹp và hùng vĩ, tên là núi Thần Đinh. Giữa vùng rừng xanh, ngọn núi ấy sừng sừng suốt bao năm tháng. Nó cao đến mức, phần ngọn núi lẩn khuất trong chân mây. Giống như đỉnh núi đang đội một chiếc mũ mây. Toàn bộ ngọn núi là đủ các cây cối cao lớn, xanh tốt quanh năm. Phía dưới thì là các loại cây bụi, cây leo. Chúng mọc đan xen vào nhau dày đặc đến mức mặt trời hầu như không thể chiếu xuống mặt đất. Đi lên núi, khắp mặt đất là một lớp dày lá cây khô rơi rụng, cảm giác như đang đi ở trên mây vậy. Với vẻ đẹp hùng vĩ lại bí ẩn, hoang sơ, ngọn núi Thần Đinh thực sự là nơi mà em yêu thích nhất trên quê hương mình.

Từ trước tới giờ, gia đình em nuôi cũng khá nhiều chú chó. Nhưng Vàng là một chú chó khôn ngoan và hiền lành hơn cả. Nó sống với gia đình em đến nay đã gần hai năm.
Vàng có một thân hình to cao lực lưỡng, nặng chừng mười ba, mười bốn ký. Toàn thân là một màu vàng sậm, mượt như tơ. Có lẽ vậy nên mới đặt tên cho cậu là Vàng. Đầu chú to như cái yên xe đạp Mini, hai cái tai dựng đứng. Nó có thể phát hiện được tiếng chân người lạ người quen từ tít đằng xa. Đôi mắt to tròn màu nâu sẫm. Cái mũi thì lúc nào cũng ướt ướt như được bối mỡ. Mấy sợi ria mép ngắn ngắn cùng với mấy cái râu khôn ở dưới cằm đen cứng tạo cho chú một bộ mặt hiền từ dễ mến. Mõm chú to, rộng mỗi khi ngáp để lộ hàm răng trắng với mấy cái răng nanh ở hai bên khóe miệng, trông đến rợn người. Và cái lưỡi thì màu hồng nhạt có sọc đen, thè ra ngoài mỗi khi trời nắng gắt.
Vàng rất khôn ngoan, chú hiểu được ý chủ. Bố bảo nằm thì nó nằm, bảo ngồi dậy thì chú chống chân trước lên, ngọ nguậy cái đầu, còn cái đuôi thì ngoắt qua ngoắt lại như một cái chổi bông. Khách đến nhà chú đều phân biệt được khách lạ, khách quen. Người lạ, chú đứng ngáng ở cổng, nhe hai hàm rầng hù dọa. Còn khách quen thì vẫy đuôi rối rít chào mời. Đặc biệt, mỗi lúc em đi học về, vừa mới về tới cổng đã thấy chú từ bậc cửa phóng ra, cái đuôi dài ngoắt lia lịa, miệng phát ra những tiếng kêu ư ử, ánh mắt vui mừng nhìn em không chớp. Rồi chú cọ cọ cái mõm ướt vào đùi em, tay em, hai chân trước co lên cào cào trên không. Những lúc như thế, em chỉ biết xoa xoa vào đầu nó và cầm chân trước rung rung vài cái khẽ nói: "Cám ơn Vàng! Vàng ngoan lắm! Nào, ta vào nhà đi!". Nó lon ton chạy theo em từ ngõ vào đến nhà mới quay trở lại bậc cửa nằm trông nhà.
Vàng khôn ngoan lanh lợi, cả nhà em ai cũng quý nó. Coi nó như một thành viên của gia đình.

Để nói về một loài vật nuôi có mặt ở đa số các gia đình Việt Nam thì chắc hẳn phải là con chó. Bởi chó là một loài rất thông minh lại có ích, giúp canh giữ nhà cửa cho con người.
Nhà em cũng nuôi một con chó, em đặt tên cho nó là Ki. Nó là con của con chó ngày trước nhà em nuôi nhưng vì già nên nó ốm và chết từ năm ngoái. Con Ki là giống chó lai, khác với mẹ nó là chó cỏ, chó ta, chắc hẳn vì bố của nó là chó lai nên giờ nó mới to bệ vệ như thế. Màu lông của con Ki cũng rất đặc biệt, phần lông ở đầu đều là màu vàng cỏ úa, nhưng xuống đến lưng lại có những đám lông màu nâu, rồi màu nâu đậm và đến phần đuôi là lông màu đen. Sự pha trộn màu sắc trên bộ lông của nó thật bắt mắt và thú vị.
Con chó Ki nhà em cao to, chiếc mõm to dài, đôi tai vểnh lên to như chiếc tai của thỏ, đôi mắt đen to tròn lộ rõ vẻ tinh anh. Chân của nó to hơn hẳn so với những con chó nhà hàng xóm, to hơn cả cánh tay của em, chiếc đuôi ít lông, thon dài quẫy vòng tròn mỗi khi thấy em đi học về. Con Ki tuy có thân hình to lớn nhưng lại khá nhút nhát, hễ có người lạ vào nhà là nó sủa lên rất to nhưng lại không dám chạy ra ngoài mà chỉ đứng gọn ở góc sân, vừa sủa vừa lùi dần vào bên trong, ra vẻ hung dữ nhưng vẫn rất sợ sệt. Cả ngày nó chỉ nằm im trong chuồng, chỉ khi nào muốn uống nước, đòi ăn hay muốn đi vệ sinh nó sẽ kêu âm ỉ “Ư ử! Ư ử!”. Khi được thả ra là nó nhảy chồm lên người tỏ vẻ rất vui sướng.
Em rất yêu quý con chó của nhà em, đêm nào con Ki cũng thức suốt đêm để canh giấc ngủ cho cả nhà, đến sáng mới dám đi ngủ. Nó cũng rất biết chơi đùa và nghe lời của chủ.

Tục mừng tuổi nay còn đó. Ông bà, cha mẹ, chú bác, cô dì, cậu mợ lì xì lớp cháu, con. Khách tới nhà ai chúc Tết lì xì trẻ con của nhà đó. Hoặc chủ nhà đón khách tới chúc Tết lì xì trẻ em đi theo khách. Ý nghĩa chính không nằm ở "tiền" mà quan trọng là lòng mong ước cầu chúc các cháu hay ăn chóng lớn, vui chơi, học hành tấn tới, còn phong bì nặng nhẹ nhiều ít (tiền) không phải là điều đáng để tâm lắm.

have a big family which gives me the biggest love. My parents have three children, and we also live with our grandparents. Both of my parents are out for work to make sure we have a comfortable life. My father works at the office, and my mother works at the bank. They usually leave early in the morning without having breakfast at home, and my grandmother is the one who cooks for me and my siblings. Our grandparents are still young and very healthy; they take care of us pretty well when our parents are busy. I go to school by my own bike, and my grandfather takes care of my two little brothers. My favorite time of the day is dinner time, because the whole family will all gather after a long day. Seven people with seven stories about their days make the atmosphere become very warm and happy. I know my parents work very hard, so I try my best to become a good daughter and sister. I usually help with the chores, cooking, and looking after my little brothers. I love my family a lot, and I will try harder to keep our happiness lasts forever.

As a traditional family in Vietnam, I have a big one. My family has 5 members, including Mom, Dad, Grandma, sister, and me. My mom’s name is Giang. She has long hair and black eyes. She is a teacher. My Dad’s name is Trung. He is tall and very strong. His job is doctor. For me, my mom is the most beautiful woman, and my dad is the most wonderful man. And my grandma’s name is Tam. She is 95 years old, and next 5 years, we will organize the 100th longevity wishing ceremony, and I look forward to taking part in this ceremony.
